All the major magazines headlines have been writing about Jaime Lynn's pregnancy. Seems like Britney isn't the only one in the family to make the headlines. For most people, this news is a shocker but not for the people in Jaime's hometown. It seems like in Kentwood, Mississippi, that kids around the age of 13 are getting pregnant. Can you imagine? Thirteen year old children having kids of their own. It makes me wonder just what the parents are doing in that town. Are these kids aware of what they are doing? Are they being informed of the consequences of unsafe sex and what happens when they get pregnant or impregnate someone?

Raincheck for Wii
Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has worked up a deal with Gamestop to issue rainchecks, or the Wii Certificate Program, on Dec 21, 2007. So what does this mean? It means for one day, you will be able to get one of the hottest gaming systems. There is a catch though. In order to get it you will have to pay $250 and they will issue you what looks like a dvd case with a picture of Mario on front. There's more, you won't get the system until Jan 25, 2008. So no Wii under the tree this year. There will be a limited amount at each Gamestop store and you can only get one per household.
If you want one, expect a long line and lots of angry people. I hope that the stores are prepared for this and able to handle the crowd.

The Girls Next Door
The Girls Next Door is a reality show on E! that focuses on Hugh Hefner (aka Hef or Puffin) and his three girlfriends behind the gates of the playboy mansion. All three of his girlfriends have different personalities. Holly Madison (the main girlfriend) is a workaholic and loves anything creative. She has been helping Hef with the pictorials on his magazine. There is Bridget Marquardt who loves to dress for the occasion. Her favorite holiday is Halloween. She is also smart and working on her masters (maybe accomplished by now). Then there is Kendra Wilkinson who loves sports and is a diehard San Diego Chargers (San Diego's football team) fan. Every once in a while the show would have other celebrities (i.e. Pamela Anderson. Seth Green , Paris Hilton) and other playmates (i.e. Courtney Culkin, Tiffany Fallon, Monica Leigh) making appearances.
Before watching, The Girls Next Door, my image of Hef's girlfriends were that they were spoiled rotten, waited on hand and foot, and ditsy. Boy was I wrong!!! These girls are popular, smart, ambitious, and very hard working. This just shows how you just can't judge someone without knowing them. All I can say about this show is that, "I love this show!"
Most of the world has an account on myspace. Guess which three girls I found? Yep, Holly, Bridget and Kendra. They have their own sexy myspace layouts.

Medication Overdose
"Dennis Quaid and his wife sued the makers of heparin Tuesday after their newborn twins were inadvertently given massive doses of the blood thinner at a hospital. The product liability lawsuit, filed in Chicago, seeks more than $50,000 in damages. It claims that Baxter Healthcare Corp., based in Deerfield, Ill., was negligent in packaging different doses of the product in similar vials with blue backgrounds. The lawsuit also says the company should have recalled the large-dosage vials after overdoses killed three children at an Indianapolis hospital last year"
(AP Associated Press)
I can understand the lawsuit against Baxter Healthcare Corporation, (the makers of Heparin) as they should of done something after three children were overdosed with Heparin. The blame shouldn't be just put on that company though. The doctors and nurses at those hospitals is also responsible as well. The bottles had similar packaging but the information on the vials were correct. The problem to me seems to come from negligence of reading the labels on the vials to be sure it is the correct medicine and dosage. Aren't the doctors and nurses suppose to read the labels on the bottles of the medications before administering them? These nurses and doctors should also be held responsible for these incidents. Our lives are in their hands when we are at their facility. They should read the labels on the vials carefully before giving them to the patients. Yes, having a different label can help but it still comes down to paying attention to what is on the label that counts.

Parenthood Changes Some
I will admit that I was at first nervous hearing about Nicole Richie's pregnancy. Her reputation as a party girl and going out everynight made me feel that she was not ready to settle down and have a family. This made me think that she would go down the same path as Britney Spears, having kids and leaving them with their nannies just to go party. What changed my mind about Nicole was her effort to learn more about motherhood. Nicole's fiance, Joel Madden from Good Charlotte, has also been doing some reading about pregnancy to learn what Nicole is going through. They seem to be ready for parenthood. The two of them have even started a charity, Richie Madden Children's Foundation, for struggling mothers. This pregnancy has really changed Nicole into a more responsible adult unlike her previous self. I am glad that parenthood has brought some logic into her life. I wish them the best of luck.

Respect for roomates
I was just watching reruns on my dvr of Real World (Sydney, Australia edition). I think I'm caught up now. Real World is a reality show on MTV where different people around the world live together. From all the Real Worlds I've seen, this season doesn't have anyone gay, someone that hasn't ever seen a certain race, Asian or African American, or gotten arrested (or not yet at least) which really surprise me.
In this episode, Trisha shoved Parisa over a heated argument causing Parisa to fall. Trisha and Parisa seem to be two different personalities. Trisha is portrayed to be some pretty girl from a religious family, but she's also loud mouth, inconsiderate, and has cheated on her boyfriend. Parisa in the other hand is more considerate, cooks for her roommates, and has more family values. They are two different people and were meant to bud heads from time to time. I was shock when they showed Trisha shoving Parisa. You do not lay hands on anyone unless it's self defense. You have to respect each other even though you don't like each other. You guys live together. It should just be like family.
Well, in the end, Parisa decides to send Trisha home for her actions. Trisha was more sorry that she was being sent home than what she have done. She claims that she apologized to Parisa but only because her dad made her. Trisha didn't even mean it. In a way, I wished Trisha would've stayed so she can learn how to respect people but I'm not sure if that will ever happen.
